As most of you know, I have always loved swimming and have  wanted to do an open swim for some time. So this year, egged on by my siblings, I have finally plucked up the courage!

The Big Swim takes place in Cornwall on Saturday August 17th and I haved decided to swim it in aid of Beating Bowel Cancer. I have used their advice line quite a few times over the last 9 months or so, especially when Tim was first diagnosed, and they have been brilliant.

It has been a great help to talk to a real person who knows everything there is to know about bowel cancer and who strikes just the right balance between sympathy and  information . Better still, they have always made me feel that they have all the time in the world to talk to  me.

With your help, I am hoping to use the money raised from my swim to make a contribution towards their advice services so that other people in our situation can benefit too.
