Story

Dear friends and family,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am very excited to have accepted a 3-month ICS (International Citizen Service) volunteer placement in Zimbabwe with the organisation Restless Development. I am completing my MSc in International Childhood Studies in September (fingers crossed!) and thought what better way to celebrate completing the course than putting some of what I have been learning over the past two years into practise.

Restless Development trains, educates, supports and inspires young people in the areas of health, civic participation and livelihoods to drive forward development in their own communities. As a Restless Development volunteer I will be working with other international and national volunteers, all aged 18 – 25, directly supporting children and young people.

Whilst my place is funded by the Department for International Development I have been asked to raise £800 for this brilliant charity. The £800 will go directly to Restless Development to ensure that their invaluable work can carry on, to monitor programmes in-country to ensure that they are making a positive difference and to train national and local volunteers in countries such as Zimbabwe so that the programmes are sustainable and have a long-lasting impact in the communities where Restless Development works.

Supporting this project means that you are not only supporting me, but an amazing organization that works to create sustainable change in communities where it is needed most.

Thank you so much for your support.
