Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friend Louise is 37, married and a full time mummy to two small children, Isabelle and Harry.
Devastatingly in 2014, Louise was diagnosed with Lymphangioleomyomastosis (LAM) a rare lung disease that occurs almost exclusively in women. It is very rare and effects just over one woman in a million.
LAM predominantly affects the lungs, where it causes excessive growth of smooth muscle cells which progressively destroy lung tissue and erode lung function. Although research is ongoing, currently there is no cure for LAM.
Louise's lungs are now only working at 34%. As you can imagine this has had a dramatic impact on Louise and her family's life.
On Saturday 9th May, a group of us will be running/walking to raise as much money as we can for the charity LAM action. We hope to raise vital funding for research; not only to help those with LAM but their families who have to deal with knowing that even a common cold can have a dramatic effect on the condition of their loved-ones. We also hope to raise awareness of LAM.
Any amount you are able to sponsor me will be greatly received!
