Story
This summer Alice and Garnett are undertaking challenges, raising funds for the Neuromuscular Centre in Winsford. Alice has completed the run and swim of the Staffordshire Ironman 70.3 with her friend, Lizzie, undertaking the run. Their time was an excellent 5 hours 45 minutes.
Garnett is cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats starting on Thursday August 24th. The challenge is to complete the ride in 10 days with no days off, riding almost 100 miles per day. He is finding long training rides on consecutive days very hard so hopes that raising money for a great cause, fantastic scenery, good food and weather will all compensate for the aching and tiredness.
The Neuromuscular Centre (NMC) provides a range of services to people with muscular dystrophy and allied neuromuscular conditions in the North West of England and beyond. The NMC is a tangible resource for people who have muscular dystrophy and their families. The centre offers a sheltered working environment, training, physiotherapy, information and emotional support. Having visited, it is clear that adults with muscular dystrophy need and benefit from skilled physiotherapy that is not provided by the NHS. Find out more at http://www.nmcentre.com/
