Story

Hi, i am a mother of 4 children, 2 of whom have a disability and very complex needs. The children have autism, adhd, severe learning disability, hearing impairment and ocd. They are prone to harming themselves and we really need a downstairs wetroom for their safety and where they can be supervised when having a shower as they are unable to do this themselves. They need help with aspects of care such as washing and a downstairs wetroom  will help with this because they wont need to get in and out of the bath. They will have more room to move as adhd means that they are very active and will move or start trying to run randomly.  A downstairs wetroom will enable them to wash in spacious environment reducing any accidents. The wetroom will allow them to relax and still be mobile at the same time and this is huge for someone with autism. Both boys have meltdowns and if this happens whilst washing, a wetroom will be much safer than the bathroom.

Both boys do struggle and i think a wetroom will help them as at the moment neither if them wants to wash and it can take several hours just to try and get them to wash. This causes huge stress on them, their siblings and parents. Their siblings help as much as they can but their own studies are now being affected as they are like young carers. A wetroom would mean so much to the family and really make things so much better for everyone. They are 17 and 7, so as you can imagine its very hard trying to tell them to have a bath when they refuse. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
