Story

Welcome to Ali’s fundraising page!

Ali has been training in the hot and humid tropics in , pounding the quay alongside the Africa Mercy, the hospital ship where she has been volunteering as a theatre nurse, providing transformational health care with Mercy Ships.

Running in with colleagues, she decided to undertake the Virgin London Marathon Challenge 2010.

Mercy Ships provided over 6,500 surgeries and over 21,000 dental procedures in a 10 month port visit in 2009, as well as health development services, changing lives and changing communities - for those with little or no access to medical services.

Ali says “Volunteering with Mercy Ships has been a life changing experience.  Working with volunteers from all around the world and helping people with no other medical care have a second chance at life has been overwhelming . . . Now that I am back in the UK it is very important to me to continue my support for Mercy Ships, and raise awareness of the charity and the work it does.”

Please sponsor me for this wonderful, life changing work and dig deep to bring hope to the horizon for those in urgent need of medical help! Donating through JustGiving is easy and safe and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Thank you for your support.
