NASS is only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with axial spondyloarthritis (AS), a painful, progressive rheumatic disease which mainly affects the spine. An estimated 200,000 people live with AS in the UK. Our 90+ branches across the UK offer regular exercise to anyone with AS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the years I have always supported charities where I can. I personally suffer from osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia which has always meant driving mini busses or setting up rest stops for the more athletic individuals to take part in chairity events.

I always wanted to join in myself. So I found swimming as a sport where I could also take part and exercise without pain. So in 2012 I attempted by first Great London Swim finishing in a time of 42 mins.

I chose the charity as one of my close friends and some of the family has AS and I had never heard of NASS. They are a small charity with a limited budget and funding so I saw thier need as greater than some of the bigger charities.

So please spare anything you can and support me in this swim.

I will stick to my motto from last year

" I will finish the swim or drown trying"
