Story
I am a 16 year old girl and for the following reasons I have to decided to cut my hair short. I have been growing my hair for a while now and I adore my long hair, however I really believe this is a worthy cause. The length is aimed around the length of Miley Cyrus' hair.
I am also donating my cut hair to Locks of Love make wigs for cancer patients.
I plan to do some other little fundraising events until that time also.
I plan to do this on April 2nd because it is Cancer Control Month. The cut will take place within Great Marlow School at lunchtime at 1.20pm.
I am aware that this is a long way away, however I would like to make it so donations can be made at your own ease at whatever time you wish. Any amount can help.
All donations will go towards Cancer Research UK.
Your donation will be greatly appreciated as it will help to fund research and create awareness.
Please don't forget to add gift aid!

In 1992, the proportion of people in the UK who got cancer during their life was 32%. This increased to 44% in 2010, an increase of more than a third. In 1992 the survivor rate was 45,000 people (21%). In 2010 this increased to 90,000 (35%).
Cancer is all around us, roughly 4 in 10 people get cancer at one point in their lifetime. Charities such as Cancer Research UK work to try and increase the survivor percentage.
To try and kill the cancer patients can go through chemotherapy. Chemotherapy attempts to kill all the bad cancer cells, however results in killing a lot of the hair cells resulting in people's hair falling out.
Most people are very attached to their hair, (if you have a bad hair day it seems like the whole day is bad!) and It must be very hard for someone, already going through so much, to then loose their hair.
Many people dread loosing their hair, so therefore opt for a wig. I have read many articles saying how you can tell the difference between a wig made of fake hair and one made from real hair.
I have also read on the Cancer Research website how hair donations help decrease the costs of a real hair wig. This can be especially useful to boost someone's self esteem after loosing their own hair.
