Story
Thank you for visiting Alexander Jamie (AJ) San’s page. AJ is a happy, fun, loving five-year-old boy diagnosed with Global Development Delay (GDD) and Epilepsy. He enjoys being around his peers, reading books and being sung nursery rhymes too. ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ being his favourite.
We are looking to support AJ with further Intensive therapy sessions to help him become more independent and hopefully being able to take his first steps:
Swim Lab International Therapy with Trexo Plus in Lanzarote (November 2023) - completed
Swim Lab International Therapy in Lanzarote (May 2024) -completed
Swim Lab International Therapy with Trexo Plus in Lanzarote (April 2025) -BOOKED!!!
AJ’s story so far…With a ‘textbook’ pregnancy, AJ was born at 38 weeks weighing 5lb 5oz, naturally without pain relief or any medical intervention. It was picked up by the health visitor at his 10-12 month review his developmental delays. AJ wasn’t meeting his milestones e.g. He was unable to sit up at six months; he could not roll independently, and he lacked fine motor skills too. Since AJ’s GDD diagnosis, AJ has been under the care of many healthcare professionals with numerous hospital appointments and therapy sessions.
AJ’s father Fong has put his career on hold to be AJ’s carer full time juggling AJ’s busy schedule. AJ started to have head drop seizures (Atonic seizures) back in August 2021 and was later diagnosed with epilepsy in January 2022. He currently medicates on Sodium Valproate and Topamax (topiramate) controlling his seizures since December 2022.
At present AJ’s developmental delay gap is moving further from his peers. AJ continuously works hard on all his therapies. He is currently non-mobile and non-verbal. AJ has a Rifton Pacer but not managed to use it as a walking aid. We do not know what the future holds for AJ’s developmental journey, but we would like to ensure we do our very best to help him progress and continue to thrive. With your help we hope to be able to continue to get AJ the intensive therapies and equipment he needs to progress in his daily life activities.
Thank you all for your support and help!
