Story

Hi everyone,

Drawing inspiration from the 3 year old son of one of our colleagues, who has been bravely battling Leukaemia as well as one of our senior managers who has been suffering Hodgkin's Lymphoma since last year I've rather foolishly commited myself to competing in the Bupa London 10,000 run on May 31st. It didn't seem so bad until I realised that both Buckingham Palace and Fenchurch Street, which are rather far apart, form part of the route. Oh and it's a round course too! So I've got myself some running shoes and started training. From initially feeling like my lungs were going to give out on me, I'm now getting into my stride and I'm looking forward to being able to run the 10km by May. The route still makes me nervous though!

This is my first time raising money like this so I've set a conservative target of £100. Hopefully I'll beat that and with my fellow Elementus colleagues we'll raise some decent wedge for our chosen charity, Leukaemia Research. Luckily both Ian and young Max have both been making great progress in defeating this illness, but only with the continued work of charities such as Leukaemia Research can more people survive it. Many of the treatments that most of us would assume to be part of the regular NHS treatment regime, are actually funded by charities such as Leukaemia Research. Without their help, those suffering leukaemia would stand a much lower chance of survival. Please be as generous as you can and let's try to make a real difference.

Thanks in advance.

Alex
