Thanks for looking
Rob and I set off on Saturday the 26th June from Dover at about 9:30 am. Accompanied by a safey boat we left the trusty White cliffs of Dover and headed out into the hazey sunlit waters ahead, without any signs of France. Almost 2hrs of paddling later we still hadnt seen France! We were awestruck by the size of the tankers in what is the busiest shipping channel in the World. Very sadly after all his hard work organising, securing kayaks and raising money Rob had to stop around half way because of an old rugby injury. He did manage to keep up his enthusiasm and encourage me from the safety boat with his cup of tea, sandwiches and refreshing drinks. Another 2hrs of not being able to see England or France passed together with more enormous tankers! See photos. The wind picked up to 18 knots and the waves grew but we eventually managed to get to France in 6:09 minutes. A real challenge completed but nothing compared to those that need the help for heroes charity.
Please be generous and thanks for your help.
