Story
Last year a very good friend and his wife were given the terrible news that their 1yr old daughter, Ruby, had been diagnosed with cancer very close to her spine, which was restricting her movement. Having 2 girls of my own around the same age I could only imagine how the family felt having to come to terms with the news then facing all the treatment that followed.
In the middle of the summer this year they were eventually given the brilliant news that the treatment had worked and that the cancer had been beaten.
I’m not sure how I would have coped in their position and when I was invited by Ruby’s uncle to help him raise some money for CLIC Sargent, a children’s cancer charity, I jumped at the chance.
So we are running the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth on the 30 October 2011.
I have been training for about 12 weeks and with just under 2 weeks everything is going to plan and I hope to complete the run in less than 1hr 30mins.
We would really appreciate any sponsorship/donations you would be kind enough to give during these financially tough times.
Thanks
Alex
