Story
I have worked for Groundwork for five and a half years now and never really knew anything about them until I came here. If I can raise a small amount of money and make more people aware of the great work that groundwork do every day I will be happy.
Jarrow Hall farm is more than just a visitor experience. The animals on the farm engage people and give them a reason to learn and develop. The farm is used as an educational tool and helps people with a wide range of abilities to develop the skills, knowledge and the confidence to develop key work and communication skills. Many of our learners have learning difficulties and need the farm and animals as a resource to engage and encourage them. The Farm provides 11 acres of healthy green space set in the middle of Jarrow and gives many people across all age groups the chance to take some time, get peace and fresh air and some family time when needed. We also take in rescue animals and re-home animals when they are in need and we have the resources to help.
Every single team working through Groundwork South and North Tyneside gives back to the entire community. We support good mental health and wellbeing. We connect people with green healthy spaces and support education and training for people of all ages and all abilities.
Please sponsor me if you can, if not please give some time to visit the website for Groundwork: https://www.groundwork.org.uk/sites/stan or Jarrow Hall: https://www.jarrowhall.org.uk/ and find out about the work we do.
Groundwork is a charity working to transform lives in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities. We’re passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances. We help people gain confidence and skills, get into training and work, protect and improve green spaces, lead more active lives and overcome significant challenges such as poverty, isolation, low skills and poor health.
