We work with local people to build a better future for gorillas

Story

After completing the New York Marathon last November in a Personal Best time of 3:39, I will by trying to better that by making 2014 a year of further physical challenges. This year I will be competing in both London (13th April) and Berlin (28th Sept) Marathons and I am looking for better times in each. In addition to these world class events I will also be attempting the Dorset Doddle a 32 mile romp along the beautiful but undulating Jurassic Coast. (18th August)

I am doing all this to raise money for the Gorilla Foundation. We have all watched the film Gorilla's in the Mist with Sigourney Weaver, well this is the charity founded by her character Diane Fossey. Since the cameras left things haven't got any easier for these Apes.

There are less than 800 Mountain Gorilla’s left in the wild, they are critically endangered and without help their species won't survive. The Gorilla foundation provides a team of Rangers and education for the local children to teach them the importance of protecting these great animals. So please dig deep and donate, as an added incentive for every £1 donated I will match it by donating another £1(up to a combined total of £1000). Please support these animals because nobody wants to see another Gorilla hand ashtray!

With just over 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world and 3 subspecies now critically endangered it is vital we do everything we can to save gorillas from extinction. We protect them from poachers, safeguard their forest home and improve livelihoods in local communities. Will you join us?
