Story
In 2013, I took part in Pedal 4 Pounds 4, cycling from Huddersfield to Hull, Hull to Scarborough, Scarborough to Harrogate and then Harrogate to Huddersfield over the course of 4 days.
This years route is known as the 'Chapman Trail'. It will see participants depart The Emirates Stadium (Arsenal) on Wednesday 23rd April, and arrive in Huddersfield in time for their final game of the season against Leicester City on Saturday 26th April.
As most of you who know me will already know, I am very keen cyclist. So for this year, my employer, Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors, who are a huge supporter of Huddersfield Town and the Keep It Up Campaign, have challenged me to complete the ride in 1 day. Well, actually, in 14 hours.
I therefore plan to depart from The Emirates Stadium on Saturday 26th April at just after midnight, and cycle 220 miles to Huddersfield, aiming to arrive in time for the big match at 3pm that same day.
Those who know my poor navigational skills will understand how much of a test it will be! I will be praying for a tailwind, and hoping for good weather. Luckily, a colleague and keen Audaxer, Tom Rodgers, will be coming along for the ride as well. His navigation skills will prove vital!
Last year I was able to raise over £1,000 for this great charity. This year, a much higher target has been set to reflect the difficulty of the event.
