One of the highlights of last year's General Election, was receiving my daily Tweet of follicular encouragement from Simon – known to the Twittersphere as "Male Political Haircuts" (@politicaltrims). Simon's obsession with the weird and wonderful world of male political grooming was filled with knowing humour and gentle encouragement to take some risks with my resolutely unmoving "anchor hair".

It came as the most appalling shock to learn that, earlier this year, Simon had died and had been using his Twitter account during the General Election to keep him occupied (and us all entertained!) through his final months. 

Simon's brother Nick has picked up the shears and continues his brother's legacy in the great online barber shop of "Male Political Haircuts", and has set me the challenge to turn Simon's vision for my hair into reality - and to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust along the way.

So, on 1st March 2021, on what would have been Simon's 55th birthday, I will do just that. I will dye my hair the most vivid, outrageous shade of Pink (just as Simon had imagined and shared to the world in the picture, above), and hope to raise as much money for this excellent cause as I possible can.
