Lifeboats can be the difference between life and death for those working at sea. As an island community they take on even greater importance and recent events have reminded us how easily tragedy can strike.

Despite this, many people still don't even realise that the RNLI (unlike the Coastguard) is a charity and relies on donations to exist. I'm undertaking this challenge to raise money for all 3 stations in the Western Isles - Stornoway, Leverburgh & Barra.
