Story
On the 12th June i am setting off on an adventure to Hamm (not quite Hamelin) with the pied piper's of Bradford AKA Adam Tasker & Tim Curtis (god help us). The ride will start from Bradford, there are 28 of us 10 of whom are disabled.
I will complete the ride on my handcycle which has been partly electrified to assist with my left arm being paralysed, as pushing a bike a certain distance with one arm isnt too cracking even though i have tried.I have Hemiplegia (Cerebral Palsy) this affects my left eye, arm & leg. I am still recovering from surgery that i had due to my cerebral palsy in October 2016. Training on top of doing rehabilitation for my leg is going to be a challenge but for anyone who already knows me i love a challenge.
I am raising money for Bradford Disability Sport & Leisure (BDSL) this is a local charity which aims to provide disabled people with high quality sport and physical activity, this is a very good cause who facilitated me helping get into hand cycling which i really appreciate both physically & mentally. They run various clubs and activities across the district every day of the week for over 400 disabled people.
This is going to be a lot of fun, even though its also going to be hard work but well worth even if i can't use my good arm for a few day, so don't all come rushing a long at once to hold my gin/whisky!
All donation will be much appreciated as this is a very good cause, please dig deep! and i'll go that extra mile
Thank you!
