We provide respite and end of life care to make the most of short & precious lives

Story

Alan Burgess is running the Virgin London Marathon on 17th April 2011 to raise money for Childrens Hospice South West.

Children's Hospice South West supports a number of hospices who provide help and support for children and their families who are living with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. They also offer Palliative care, some emergency care and planned rest bite.
All the services that CHSW offer are free, their philosophy is that nothing should get in the way of children receiving the very best care, and with very little funding from the government they rely on the generosity of their supporters to deliver their promise 'TO MAKE THE MOST OF SHORT AND PRECIOUS LIVES'

Alan, a father of 2, started running 18 months ago and has now completed 3 ½ Marathons. Although he has raised money for charity with each of his races, this is by far and away his biggest challenge. As a family friend to both Adele and Louise he is looking forward to being able to support and help them raise funds for such a wonderful charity.
