Until I met my partner Wendy 7 years ago, I had very little idea of what Parkinson's Disease was. Wendy was diagnosed with PD fourteen years ago and through her I became a member of Parkinson's UK.

We joined our local Parkinson's branch (Havering) a few years ago where I am currently the Vice Chairman. Our branch meets twice  a month and is dedicated to bringing together PD sufferers in the locality for social activities and to promote the help and support that is available from our charity, Parkinson's UK.

The charity is committed to help find a cure, to providing support for existing sufferers and to informing health care professionals . The work that it does is wide ranging and I recommend that you take a look at at our website to see the extent.

We function entirely on donations, no matter how small. If you are a taxpayer, any donation that you make can be gift aided to increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you. 

If you know of anyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, or their carer, please refer them to our charity if they are not already aware of it.
