I'm raising money for Jengana, a charity based in Northern Ireland who support people in Kenya living in poverty. Jengana will be sending a team to Nairobi in July 2012 to provide essential medical assistance, help build and maintain schools, provide food for street families and give all kinds of help to the local people. My wife and i will be part of the team and have committed to raise £1000 each.

To raise funds I will be walking the Mourne Wall, which encloses the catchment area of the silent valley reservoir. The route is 22 miles long, crosses the summits of 15 mountains and has a total ascent of almost 9200Ft.

I’m going to complete the route in one day, there’s no time limit but I’m aiming to beat 14hrs. The date’s to be confirmed as the weather is an important factor but it will be sometime early in spring.

Looks like the walk will be taking place in June now as I'm walking the Belfast Marathon on 7th May. I'll update when the date is set!
