Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To raise funds for the Lymphoma Association, six friends and I are undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge; climbing the UK's three highest mountains – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - in 24hrs on 9 June. It is a severe mental and physical challenge, however hopefully it’s crazy enough to raise money for a worthwhile charity!
The Lymphoma Association is a charity which is almost solely funded through voluntary contributions and provides essential support for sufferers of lymphatic cancer. Lymphatic cancer is the fifth most common form of cancer in the UK and the most common cancer in the under 30s. Cases of Lymphatic cancer are increasing, with 13,500 people diagnosed each year; the majority, some 11,800 with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
I was diagnosed with a very rare form of Hodgkin Lymphoma in April 2011 and it is a life-changing undertaking. I was exceptionally lucky that my cancer was relatively easily treated and I entered remission in October 2011. However, I met people during my treatment that weren’t so fortunate and were very ill.
It is a cliché, but any amount, no matter how small, can make a real difference to those affected by lymphoma.
Please give what you can, and many, many thanks for your support.
