Story
Along with at least 100 other Scottish business leaders, I am taking part in Social Bite’s CEO Sleep-Out. We will be braving a cold Scottish winters night on December 15th to raise funds for Scotland’s most vulnerable people and Social Bite’s work in helping them find their feet.
We are raising money to break the cycle of homelessness in Scotland for good by supporting Social Bite’s plan to build a village for 20 homeless individuals to live for 12 months. This village will not only put roofs over people’s heads but will also be paired with full support to help them get back on their feet and links to employment opportunities.
The sleep out will take place in Charlotte Square in Edinburgh from 7pm – 7am with only a sleeping bag to see us through the cold winters night. Britain’s greatest ever Olympian Sir Chris Hoy is taking part and all participants have been invited by the First Minister to Bute House for Bacon Rolls in the morning!
Christmas is a time of year where we eat, drink and are merry with our families and friends. But it is also an incredibly lonely and harsh time for our homeless populations. This event will be the first time the most elite members of Scottish society experience for one night what the homeless community go through and all funds raised will go to breaking the cycle of homelessness for good.
