Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have set this up on behalf of my brother Alan, just 18 months older than me, who sadly died after a near 2 year battle with prostate cancer, and related complications, on 9 January 2020.
Our late Mum had five boys and four of us had a lot of interest in cricket from an early age.
Whilst Alan never played the game, he loved it so much that he was scorer for a number of cricket clubs in both senior and junior cricket in the Halifax area as well as Halifax League representative teams, often scoring in three or more matches in a week.
Alan had a stroke, which impacted his mobility quite a lot, some 9 years ago at the end of December and had to spend several weeks in hospital recovering and getting lots of physiotherapy.
He never married or had children of his own and it was cricket that actually drove his recovery - he simply had to be out of hospital for the start of the cricket season in mid April so that he could commence his scoring duties. And he was so focussed and got out just in time!
So if you would like to donate please do so and help fight this disease which kills close to 12,000 men each year in the UK. I will be extremely grateful for anything you do and I am sure it will help ease the massive pain that we are all feeling as I write this just 24 hours after his passing. Thank you so much.
Pete
