In September, along with ten other people, I will be taking part in a charity hillclimb, organised by my work. The challenge takes place in the Western Isle's, over two days and is in aid of Cancer Research. On day one we will climb the highest summits of Canna, Muck and Eigg - a total distance of 21km of hiking complete with 740m of ascent. Day two - The Big Climb on Rum, where we will hike to the summit of Askival, 812m (2650 feet) to complete the challenge. As well as being the highest peak on Rum, it is also one of the finest, with a narrow ridge leading to the summit. I am really looking forward to participating in this fun and challenging event and anything you could spare to help me reach my target would be greatly appreciated.
