Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing an appeal in Worcestershire for SCaRF - the Skin Cancer Research Fund

This was my family's chosen charity follwing the sad death from Melanoma of my brother in law Nick Lee a year ago.  I learned a lot in a short time about this disease and was especially struck that the incidence of skin cancer, particularly amongst young people, is steadily increasing.  There is much that needs to be done to research and find effective treatment. I decided to use my contacts though my work in health and social care and my musical and sporting leisure interests, to do this appeal.

I am hugely grateful to all the people who have made donations via this appeal.  A steady number of people are still doing so, and we have been very touched by people's generosity and kindness.

One of the main things I did for the appeal was to make a CD, with several good friends who have been very generous with their time, and am still selling it for a minimum £5 donation to SCaRF.  Ann and I asked friends and colleagues to commit to try to sell 5 or 10 copies, and submit all funds they raise via Just Giving.

We held an all day concert on 17th October last year, which raised over £500, and was a day that everyone seemed to enjoy very much, so a very big thank you to all the musicians and helpers who gave so freely and generously of their time to help make it a success.
