Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am currently training to run the Edinburgh marathon in May 2011 and want to raise £1000 of much needed money for a great charity called Kenyawi kids. I am starting the ball rolling with the first £100 which leaves the total needed down to £900!!!! I'll be posting regular updates on my training its ups and downs and the cold bath count (apparently it helps).
Kenyawi kids is a registered Scottish charity. Kenyawi Kids supports self-sustainability in orphan care in Kenya and Malawi. We aim to provide funding for projects such as buying farm land to set up farms, and community education. Needless to say, the agricultural education alongside the financial stability offered to an orphanage with a working farm is invaluable- food can be grown and excess sold to pay day-to-day costs such as salaries, utilities and school fees. At the same time the children can learn life skills that will help them become self-sufficient when they leave the orphanages.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Any donation is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Alan
