Story
It is time for us to do our bit and take on a challenge
We feel it is a good time to support a smaller charity, who are unable to hold fund-raising events during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We will be raising money for The Alexandra Sales Trust, a local charity who support children and young people aged 1 to 24 who have been diagnosed with cancer, raising 'Smile Money', such as gifts or experiences that they will treasure.
The reality is, that they are still providing support and love to young people facing the daily trauma of cancer. However, during this unprecedented time, donations are likely reduced as fundraising events cannot take place as normal, so we are taking on this challenge to raise money so they can continue to help young people fighting this horrible disease.
Our challenge:
We, Martin, Lorna, Airlie and Harley plan to row (unfortunately not on the river), the entire length of the Thames to finish on the Kent coast at Margate. Bringing it to a total of 400km.
We have varying levels of rowing ability and stamina, and for some will be more mentally challenging (staring at the same bit of fence for more than 10 minutes can get quite boring!)
Any donation, even the price of a cup of coffee, would be gratefully received, and will help to motivate Harley to get out of bed in the morning and row!
