Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We recently lost our beautiful baby girl Jasmine Poppy. Jasmine was born at 32 weeks on the 28th April and had been diagnosed with a Hernia. Jasmine was very strong and sailed through birth and was waiting patiently to get stronger before undergoing her surgery at 37 weeks. Jasmine unfortunately caught Sepsis during her time in Neonatal. Jasmine continued to fight her way through this dreadful illness and recovered six weeks later. We enjoyed three and a half beautiful weeks with our strong beautiful little girl before she made it to surgery. Jasmine underwent her surgery on the 15th July and was recovering well like the miracle baby she was.
Jasmine unexpectedly passed away on 17th July. The cause is yet to be confirmed.
We are truly heartbroken and forever proud of our strong little baby girl. Words cannot describe the pain we feel for her loss. We would like to donate to Abigails Footsteps - as this charity helps to support other bereaved parents, whilst also supporting the way parents are cared for by hospitals - and to better educate midwives on how to care for grieving parents. Sadly, Stillbirths and neo-natal death occur daily, yet many hospitals are not equipped to deal with the parental care required, they have inadequate facilities and their staff receive little to no bereavement training.
Abigail's Footsteps greatest contribution as a charity has been the creation and funding of the the Abi Cooling cot - which allows parents valuable time to spend with their baby before saying goodbye. My Husband and I were fortunate enough to have access to a cooling cot so we were able to say goodbye by holding and kissing our beautiful little girl for hours after her passing - before saying goodbye for the last time.
Jasmine was our world and nothing can ever replace this lost feeling.
In memory of Jasmine we would like to help raise money towards this wonderful charity who have offered support to me and my husband. Hopefully they can help support many other families in the future.
Dreaming of our beautiful darling Jasmine always and forever.
