In May 2013, my pal Liz Williams and I, are taking on the Devon Coast to Coast challenge - riding approximately 120 miles over 3 days from Ilfracombe to Plymouth to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care.

I have come to appreciate the joys of cycling (or indeed any physical exercise) relatively late in life.  However, a chance invitation from Liz to cycle out into the Peak District 4 years ago, has developed into a passion for riding. 

In June 2012, I started working for Breast Cancer Care.  Three weeks later my mum was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma in Situ) - an early form of non-invasive breast cancer. Thankfully her treatment is now over and she is back on the dance floor where she is at her happiest.

This personal experience has motivated me to raise funds for people affected by breast cancer. Any contribution - no matter how small - will be gratefully appreciated.
