Story
I am raising money for the 'Kenyan Orphan Project' which supports orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya through improving their access to schools, health and nutrition. Through the student program at Manchester, there is a group of 8 of us aiming to raise £800.00 each to donate to this charity through different fundraising events both independently and as a group throughout the year. We will then be travelling to Kisumu in Kenya for two weeks this summer, to give us a chance to see first hand how our money is helping, and a chance to meet these children. We are so excited about developing close bonds with these children, and enabling them to see there is hope, and that there are people who really care.
I was drawn to this charity, as it is one of the few organisations in which 100% of the money raised goes towards the projects and these children. We're constantly hearing distressing stories about the extreme poor standards of living in areas such as Kisumu, and I wanted to do my part to do something about it. Giving these children who have so little an opportunity for education and health care will give them that start in live they so desperately need.
Any donations would be so appreciated, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I'll be keeping up to date on here about my fundraising events, and for anymore information on the organisation, please visit http://www.kopafrica.org/ where you can read about the incredible things this charity has already done.
