Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women in Northern Ireland, and recent records show that incidents have increased in the past year. Covid-19 lockdowns have been difficult for everyone, however for those being subjected to abuse by their partner, being trapped at home has been far from safe.Belfast and Lisburn Women's Aid have remained open throughout all lockdowns, supporting women and children despite the ongoing pandemic. I'm supporting their mission to raise awareness and funds by joining their community of supporters and taking on the #10KbyMay challenge.
