In the early hours of 6th February, a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck in southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing severe damage to buildings and infrastructure. Hours later a second more powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the region again. The death toll has risen to over 9000 now and significantly more wounded and displaced.
