Story
Strictly Inverness is back for it's 11th year in 2020! I am taking part in this large fundraising event which raises valuable funds for Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, both local charities close to the hearts of many. I was asked to step in as an alternate for someone who couldn't participate and I couldn't be more pleased to accept this challenge! As a care worker in the states, I saw first hand the blessing that hospice care can be for individuals, and the family and friends of those near the end of life. I am honoured to help raise funds for our local Highland Hospice and Ice Centre because supporting the community truly helps all of us. As a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor at HMAC (Highland Martial Arts Centre) here in Inverness, I help people of all ages overcome fear, strive for betterness, and conquer new challenges daily. I am approaching this opportunity as a new experience to add to my life and will take inspiration from my brave and amazing students and colleagues over at HMAC and in the Jiu Jitsu world at large! And of course from my wildly imaginative and fiercely courageous 4 year old daughter, Grace. Daddy will try to be as graceful as possible!
Strictly Inverness 2020 is set to take place throughout the 4 days of 13th -16th May. My commitment is extensive; everyone is required to fundraise to their best ability, secure a corporate sponsor, and attend 3 hours of training sessions per week from Jan-May, in order to be well prepared for their performances. I will be performing in front of a panel of judges and an audience of 560, and will be scored accordingly. Wish me luck! And please donate what you can! And yes, I will be receiving extra special help from my beautiful wife, who happens to be an amazingly talented dance teacher (shhhhhhh!) 🤙❤️✌️
