EBM is connected with the Methodist Church in Ireland and working in an inner city community in Belfast. EBM works with local people to bring about peace in an area of interface violence. It offers support to children, young people, people who are homeless and/or unemployed, older people and families; and is active in regeneration through the Skainos Project.

Story

We are raising money to send the Northern Ireland team to the Homeless World Cup in Chile, which takes place in November 2014.

Your donations will help get us there. We need around £30,000 to cover the two week trip. This will be a dream come true to the players involved, a once in a lifetime experience.

The team of eight players will be selected from NI Street League to represent their country for the first time. NI Street League is 5 aside football league set up for marginalised groups including the homeless, drug and alcohol dependant, refugees, assylum seekers and long term unemployed. We currently run two leagues in NI one in Belfast and one in the North West. Some of the benefits of playing in Street League include better physical and mental health, overcoming addictions, breaking out of homelessness, education and employment opportunites, improved self esteem, motivation and discipline.

This year we aim to provide opportunities for the players to become a qualified football coach, qualified referee, qualified fitness instructor and gaining qualifications in Essential Skills.
