Story
21st November 2016. The day I'll never forget.
It started like any normal Monday, untill lunchtime when I received a call from Claire's work saying she had collapsed and they had called an ambulance for her.
Claire ended up in St. Georges Hospital to have a CT scan. The scan confirmed that she had suffered a subarachnoid haemorage (a bleed on the brain). Claire's mum sadly passed away in 2000 from the same thing and my mind was racing at the time trying to comprehend what was happening and what was going to happen.
It's been 6 months now and Claire has made amazing progress but there is still some more recovery to be made. There were so many people and departments that have been amazing and helped Claire along this journey and I am so thankfull to all of them.
I am raising money for the Queen Elizabeth Foundation, where Claire was a resident at their Neuro Rehabilitation Service after leaving hospital. They have helped Claire massively in so many areas, from getting back to driving, vocational support to help her return to work and strategies to help her memory. I can honestly say I don't know where Claire and I would be without them and am hoping to raise as much as possible to help them continue their great work.
