Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our little boy, Gabriel, will be one year old on the 11th of February 2020. He has a condition called ‘Williams Syndrome”, a genetic disorder which effects the heart and arteries. Unfortunately for Gabriel these effects were very severe in his first months, and his doctors were pessimistic about the outcome. We had to face the very real possibility that we would lose him. His only chance was a lengthy and delicate operation requiring immense skill and experience from the surgeon followed by a lengthy period of recovery watched over by equally skilled and experienced nurses. I have no doubt that they saved his life, several times.
That we could share Christmas with him was, really, a miracle That we can celebrate his first birthday Is a testament to what the team at Great Ormond Street have achieved. He is a lovely child, chubby, pink and very very smiley. His cardiologist is delighted with him and tells us that beyond the occasional check up no further treatment is required. As I said, a miracle.
There is nothing that we would like more than to help Great Ormond Street offer help to other kids and their parents, whatever their problems might be. Squodge has an enormous trove of cuddly toys and multicoloured plastic toys, he doesn’t need any more. We think he’d be delighted to donate to other kids if he could. So if you’d like to give him a birthday gift that really counts please make a small donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital to help their wonderful, talented multicultural, diverse team continue their essential work.
Thank you.
