We all undoubtedly know either directly or indirectly somebody who has been affected by cancer.

The money we are raising is going to Maggie's Centre, who provide practical, emotional and social support to anyone with cancer and their families and friend.  More details on their website at www.maggiescentres.org.

Unfortunately earlier this year one of my friends had to deal with her daughter contracting and loosing her battle with cancer.  She found Maggie's centres through this process and the amazing support they provide.

So to support this charity, we are going to be taking a few colleagues, know it all ex Royal Navy type out on a little sail; doing the Eddystone Charity Sailing pursuit on a real yacht.  This is a little 26 mile sail from Plymouth out to the Eddystone Light in the English Channel and back.

For those who would like to come along for the ride, you can in the virtual world as Sail Online (WWW.sailonline.org) will be running the race in real time. (See if you can beat my time!!!!)
