Story
Dear All
I completed the Reading Olympic distance Triathlon on the 11th of September 2011 in a respectable time of 3 hours and 17 minutes. The weather stayed fine all the way through thankfully, it actually got quite warm and sunny during the run.
The race was really tough. I thoroughly enjoyed the swim and the cycle doing pretty good times for both, but by the time it got to the second half of the run energy was in pretty short supply and I had to dig very deep to get to the finish line. A great experience though and call me a sucker for punishment but I would do it all over again.
Thank you to all who have sponsored me It has been for a great cause.
Adrian.

In May of this year, we sadly lost Kim’s Dad, David Morris, to Lung Cancer after a sudden illness. He was diagnosed in early March, and within two months he deteriorated rapidly and passed away on the May 7 at the age of 77.
His last few weeks were spent at the Myton Hospice, and the care and support he received in their amazing facilities was second to none. The dedicated and highly trained staff not only provided the medical support that he needed, but also enabled him to find peace and retain his dignity to the end. They also supported and cared for us as a family, easing as far as they could, what was an extremely painful and difficult time.
Having gone through this, we would want everyone who is in need of this kind of care to be able to have it, and that is why I am choosing to do the Reading Triathlon in aid of the Myton Hospices and in memory of David who was a wonderful, kind and caring man; a great Dad, Grampy and good friend.
Each year The Myton Hospices care for over 2000 people and their families at their hospices in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry. They give support and reassurance, relieve symptoms and control pain. They rely on the support of the local community and need to raise £6.7million each year, in fact while David was at the Coventry Hospice, not all of their beds were in use due to funding constraints – a lost opportunity to provide much needed help and support to patients and their families when they need it most.
