Story
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the bodies motor neurones.
Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of: mobility in the limbs, speech, swallowing and breathing.
It affects 5 in 100,000 people and is incurable and fatal in all cases. 50% of people with MND die within 14 months. No one knows what causes it or how to treat it.
I was diagnosed in September 2010 at the age of 38, which is young for this condition. I have a young family which I now won't see grow up.
MNDA Lincolnshire have been of tremendous support to me and my family. By supporting this event it helps them give life improving assistance to others suffering this relentless and devastating condition.
