Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2013 · 25 May 2013 to 26 May 2013 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Adele’s Final Run

Adele sadly passed away on the 5th of November 2012, whilst on duty for the Metropolitan Police.

Adele was our best friend – she was an incredible girl known to us as “del boy”.

One of del’s final wishes was to run the Edinburgh Marathon.

So… on the 26 May 2013, Emily Charlesworth, Anna Williams, Natasha Henry, Laura Thomson, Louise Jackson and Anna Caines will be running in Adele’s memory.

Emily will be taking on the full marathon. Anna W, Natasha, Laura, Louise, and Anna C will be running the half.

We are asking for donations for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which raises awareness of conditions that can lead to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

This is not going to be easy so please give generously! Thank you.

A little note about Emily…

At the beginning of 2012 Emily was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was incredibly brave and fought the cancer off – making a full recovery. Running the Edinburgh marathon is not only a fitting tribute to Adele, but a truly remarkable achievement for our Emily – You Go Girl!!!!
