Story
Yep you read it right I'm learning to dance to try and raise a few quid for Bolton Hospice. It's not dancing like a good few of you may have seen back in Cream or Sankys (if any of you can remember!).... its the social foxtrot, the quickstep and a bit of rock 'n' roll thrown in for a laugh!
I met Steph, my dance partner, just before Christmas and we have been going to lessons on Monday evenings trying to learn the steps.... luckily Steph is very very patient has has toes made of steel. There are 20 couples, all new to dancing, being taught various dances by the fabulous folks down at A Touch of Class Dance Studio.
We are all showing off our new moves at a Grand Final on the 28th March at the Whites Hotel...in-front of 800 people, so no pressure!
As you all know Bolton Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of our family after the care, support, compassion and love they gave not only to Dad, Frank Peacock, but also to my Mum and to all of us. Prior to Dad getting ill none of us really knew much about the Hospice or how it helped people. Not just the help for the patients but for the families of the patients. It was an awful time, but the staff and volunteers at the Hospice went above and beyond the call of duty every day to make Dad comfortable and to help us with anything we asked for.
We were all touched by Bolton Hospice and I will keep trying to raise a few quid whenever I can so they can continue with the amazing care and service they offer.
Bolton Hospice cannot continue to keep providing the service without people raising money and all the volunteers doing the amazing work they do, week in, week out.
So here's where I ask you to spare whatever you can, whether that's in support of me dancing and making a fool out of myself in-front of 800 people or just because it's such a deserving cause.
Thanks
