Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my charity fundraising page.
Yes, I'm running more marathons... This season I am running Bournemouth, London and Edinburgh once again - and aiming for a PB at London.
In recent times, on a personal and professional level, I have seen first hand the early life that so many children go through before being taken into care; born with foetal alcohol syndrome, often neglected and mistreated in a variety of ways, uncared for, and that is just the briefest of insights into what goes on.
No child deserves the life that some of these children get born into. No child deserves to be treated in the ways that we have sadly witnessed.
The NSPCC has a vision, which is to end cruelty to children in the UK. They campaign to change the law, provide ChildLine and the NSPCC helpline service, offer advice for adults, and much more.
I have been inspired to do everything I possiby can to aid this cause as a result of our recent experiences and I truly hope you can help support my fundraising efforts.
I run in all conditions, I train incredibly hard and diligently, I aim for personal best times and don't just make up the numbers. I have broken metatarsals, suffered shin splints three times, had plantar fasciitis, and fallen over and been injured on a few occasions because I was running so early in the dark. I am a 14 stone lump to whom running does not come naturally. I may have learned to love running over the years, but also realise how it can create massive change in the lives of others as a result of the fundraising that comes with it. Please make my efforts more bearable, please help me make it all worthwhile with any kind of sponsorship to help support this wonderful charity.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the NSPCC and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
ps. In my gallery below, you can also view a short clip of me running a number of marathons in 2012 in succession - to give you an idea of the efforts I put into these events.
