Story

This past weekend, myself, Sid Quinlan & Darren Power completed a 460km cycle from Bull Island to Salthill and back. 18 hours and 52 mins cycling time was a much better pace than I expected but it was extremely tough particularly the first day which was an absolute washout. We have been blown away by the support shown in the months leading up to this and also during the cycle. The messages of support really did make a difference when all you want to do is lash the bike into the canal and go to bed.

The whole reason we done this cycle is to raise vital funds for LauraLynn – Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, and thanks to all of you, we all managed to raise €4,406 which is far beyond what we thought could be achieved. The services LauraLynn provide are absolutely vital to families across Ireland. Having heard stories from people who have used their services on radio shows and on their YouTube channel it really hits home and having kids ourselves, puts things in perspective which is why I wanted to do something for LauraLynn, for those who have asked. Thank you LauraLynn for all you do.

Fundraising efforts have been also greatly helped by some fantastic companies that came on board to support and I just want to extend my thanks to Colin at Cycle Tribe for our jerseys, Mark Treacy at Fire and Gas Detection Services, Jeff Doyle at Firetrade and KSS, Lynsey Power with Snickers Workwear and David Coates at SMS, Ray Dooley at Ideal Fire, Sylwia Bednarek in The Belvedere Hotel and Hotel 7, Mark Chidgey and John Curran in Dublin Steel Pressings, and of course they guys at Moyvalley Hotel & Golf Resort and Expert Electrical.

Thanks to all of you, family and friends for all of your donations and support, and a special thank you to Leonie who drove every kilometre there and back in support with spares and fuel and we couldn't have done it without her help.

All the best ❤
