Me and a couple of the lads are running gelt gladiator in aid of tiny lives, a charity that helped us a lot when our Tommy made his surprise entrance to the world at 28 weeks

As I’m sure you’re aware ( if you know us) this was a difficult time to go through. Being a new parent is difficult as it is but when you have the complications a preemie has then there are a lot of other factors that come into play that simple numb you.

I won’t bore you with our story but in a nutshell. Our Tommy was born by emergency c-section .weighing 2lb 12oz . He was whizzed off to RVI to be ventilated an stabilised as his body wasn’t quite ready for the world.2 days later we were allowed to visit but we only had a bed for my wife vic for a week and after that it was looking likely we would be sleeping in my van. Tiny lives came and found us a room within Crawford house (another amazing charity) they payed all our car park tickets made sure we were fed and looked after but most importantly we’re always there if we needed to simply talk to someone. We cannot thank them enough for the work they done for us and continue to do for everyone else.

Tiny lives are there for not only the babies on NICU but they are there for the families. providing information, care packages, grievance support and emotional support to name a few.
