Story
Myself and Rachael will be running the Puma Hawkshead Challenge 15km Trail at the end of April to raise money for the project Cameroon Catalyst for the Mosame Trust. In June, me and 18 other enthusiastic civil engineers from the University of Southampton will be going to Cameroon to build a community for the severely underdeveloped village of Bambouti. The centre has been designed and is being funded entirely by the team. It is designed to address the basic needs of the village- healthcare, education and community based facilities, all of which are lacking in the village. This project will dramatically improve the lives of the people in the village and the surrounding area, and will hopefully serve as the first part of a much larger scheme in the area.
For more information on the project, please visit www.camerooncatalyst.org. For more information on the charity, Mosame Trust, please visit www.mosame.org.
The whole project cost is approximately £50k, and the team are on a large fundraising scheme to get to this target. As part of the fundraising, some of the team are running individual events to raise their bit. Myself and Rachael are aiming to raise £500, so every little donation will help out no matter how small! If we exceed the target, the extra money is a bonus and will still go towards the project!
The trail we are running is a 15km trail in the Hawkshead region in the Lake District. The route is very rough and undulating, and we have been training hard for the last couple of months in preparation! Please donate for this cause, as every little donation will help out significantly towards the project, changing the lives of the people in the village.
