Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
It will be ten years ago I lost my father to cancer. To say he had a big impact on my life is an understatement, helping me battle on the home front against all the females in the house, teaching me to drive (badly), making me food to come home to late after work, and so many others. I know these seem silly things but it's the little things like that I'll always remember. I still miss him everyday.
To be fair he had a tough battle with his health, surviving a heart virus by having a transplant and his anti-rejection drugs were potentially teh cause of his cancer, so maybe I should be running for The British Heart Foundation. He also recieved help at home and in hospices, so maybe Marie Curie but I think we need to try and cure this problem and that is why I have chosen cancer research.
This marathon has taken over my life and is comfortably one of the hardest things I have ever trained for. Those that know me well know how much I enjoy a drink, but I have barely touched a drop for over three months! Early nights at the weekend, ice baths and three hour runs by myself has turned me into a boring (no change there) recluse.
Now I know I seem to ask for donations regularly, and probably will again soon but any donation would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. So please dig deep and wish me luck for the 15th!
