Story
For a long time I've wanted to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, with a suitable challenge hard enough to test myself and represent a commitment to their cause.
Heart disease affects so many families across the country and the impact is devastating and often unexpected. I want to help the BHF to save even more lives as well as support those families who have experienced loss.
I lost my Dad 11 years ago suddenly and unexpectedly to heart disease and a day doesn’t go by without me wondering what life would be like with him still here. It would certainly be a better place.
On Boxing Day this year it will be 8 years since heart problems took the life of my beautiful niece Isabella when she was only 3 days old. Izzy was my brother and sister-in-law's first child, an amazing bundle of beauty and to lose her so soon was, and still is, absolutely gut-wrenching.
As I work my way from Manchester to Blackpool on the night of the 28th September, I know that my Dad and Izzy will be watching down and I’m hoping for a clear and starry sky so they can both enjoy the "Lumies"....
Thank You
