Fundraising for Blood Cancer UK
Story
I will be joining Kinetic's 2011 cycle event which will be taking on stage 6 of the 2011 Tour de France.
This is an undulating 161 mile cycle from Dinan to Lisieux, which I understand includes a very big climb. We have two days in which to complete this .
Our chosen charity is Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research , a charity that is very important to us as a group and personally for me and my family.
It is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
The life-saving research is focused on find causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running groundbreaking clinical trails for all blood cancer patients. Blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma affect people of all ages from babies to grandparents. We need to be sure that we reach all those touched by leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and give them the best possible chance of survival.
On the basis you are this far and I hope are about to donate lots of your cash I think it important you know two key things ....
Firstly , this trip has been very kindly funded by both my company Admedia, and and a very good customer of ours , Kinetic. This means that all your donation will be going to this very worthy charity and not funding any part of the two days of agony I have agreed to .
Secondly , upon interrogation of my general cycling experience, training thus far , and review of my bike and kit (see pictures), the manager at my local bike replied "young man, you have no chance".
Upon reflection, I think both parts of that statement were key to him making a very big sale last Saturday morning.
As you can see this is a tough challenge and it’s for a great cause so please dig deep and donate……
