Story
Hi Everyone!
First of all thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
As many of you will, or won’t know, I am cycling 145 miles in June with
around 200 other people from within the Football League and talkSPORT all for
Prostate Cancer UK.
Some of the riders are staff of League Clubs but all fans of one club or
another and it will be great to see so many people representing different clubs
come together to raise money for a great charity that many people don’t know
about.
I will be representing Scunthorpe United in the 2015 Challenge and I am looking
forward to it, surprisingly, including the training.
This is my first ever fundraising event and I’ll be hitting the gym and then
getting out on the bike on a regular basis to make sure I’m fully prepared.
For those that don’t know Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in
the UK. Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. Over
250,000 men are currently living with the disease.
Normally the growth of all cells is carefully controlled in the body. As cells
die, they are replaced in an orderly fashion. Cancer can develop when cells
start to grow in an uncontrolled way. If this happens in the prostate gland,
prostate cancer can develop.
Prostate cancer often grows slowly and has a low risk of spreading, so it may
never cause you any symptoms or problems in your
lifetime. In other words, it’s often not life-threatening. Because of this,
slow-growing prostate cancer might not need to be treated. You might be able to
have your cancer monitored with regular check-ups
instead.
But some men will have cancer that is faster growing and has a higher risk of
spreading. This needs treatment to stop it spreading outside
the prostate.
So please do all you can and help me raise a fantastic amount of money for
Prostate Cancer and #MenUnited.

involved. Just click this link (http://www.prostatecanceruk.org/Amsterdam)
to sign up (there is a £149 registration fee) and you have to raise £1,000.
Thank you for donating if you have and good luck to everyone else who is
joining me on the challenge.
